Web Design & Development

A website that looks like you mean it.

I design and hand-build custom websites from a blank page — sites that look sharp, load fast, and guide visitors toward becoming customers. One person handles the design and the code, so the whole thing hangs together instead of being stitched from parts.

Your website is usually the first real impression someone forms of your business — often before they ever speak to you. A template that looks like ten thousand other businesses tells a visitor you’re one of ten thousand other businesses. A site built specifically for you says the opposite, in the first three seconds, without a word.

That’s the work: not decoration, but a site that earns trust instantly, reads effortlessly on a phone, and makes the next step obvious. I care about the details most people feel but can’t name — the pacing, the hierarchy, the way a page loads in an instant instead of stuttering in.

What you get

Everything a site needs to earn its keep.

01

A custom design

Designed for your business specifically — not a marketplace theme with your logo dropped in. A look that’s unmistakably yours.

02

Hand-coded front-end

Built by hand, so the site ships only the code it needs. That’s why it loads fast and stays fast — the speed is structural, not a plugin.

03

Flawless on every screen

Phone, tablet, laptop, the big monitor. It’s tested and tuned everywhere, because most of your visitors are on a phone.

04

A clear path to action

Every page is laid out to guide a visitor toward one obvious next step, so the site actually does a job instead of just existing.

05

Search foundations included

Semantic structure, speed, and clean markup baked in from the first line — so you’re set up to be found without bolting SEO on later.

06

Built to hand over

Clean, maintainable, and documented enough that you’re never held hostage. It’s your site.

Who it’s for

A good fit if…

  • You’re an established business
The website is a real front door to revenue, and a template no longer reflects where you are.
  • You care how it looks — and works
You want something distinctive and considered, not the same layout as ten thousand other businesses.
  • You value speed and being found
You want the search foundations built in from day one, not bolted on after launch.
  • You want one accountable person
No hand-offs between a designer, a developer, and an SEO team who never talk. Just me, start to finish.

The way I build (and why it matters to you)

Most websites today are assembled, not built. A page builder here, a stack of plugins there, a theme doing the heavy lifting. It’s fast to put together, and you pay for that speed later — in a site that’s slow, generic, and fragile every time something needs to change.

I build by hand. That sounds like a small distinction; it’s the whole game. A hand-built site ships only the code it actually needs, so it’s fast because it’s lean — not because I bolted a caching plugin onto a heavy foundation and crossed my fingers. It’s distinctive because nothing about it was inherited from a template. And it’s yours to maintain, not a tangle of add-ons that breaks when one of them updates.

It also means the details that quietly decide whether a site works are actually handled: it reads cleanly on a screen reader, the markup is semantic so search engines understand it, images are sized deliberately instead of dumped in at full resolution, and every screen size is tuned rather than left to “shrink and hope.” You don’t see any of this. You feel it — in a site that loads instantly and just works.

Not sure whether custom is even right for you? I wrote an honest, no-spin comparison: custom website vs. template — and a breakdown of what a website should actually cost.

(FAQ)

Web design questions.

01How long does a custom website take?+
Most builds run from a couple of weeks to a couple of months, depending on the size of the site and how quickly we lock content and direction. I’d rather set a realistic timeline and hit it than promise something fast I can’t deliver well.
02Why hand-built instead of a template or page builder?+
Templates and page builders ship a mountain of code for features you’ll never use, and send all of it to every visitor — which is why so many of those sites are slow. Building by hand means the site carries only what it needs. It’s faster, more distinctive, and doesn’t degrade every time someone installs another plugin.
03Do you write the content too?+
I’ll shape the structure, guide the messaging, and tune the copy so it converts — and I’ll tell you honestly where your own words about your business will beat anything I could invent. It’s collaborative. You know your business; I know how to frame it.
04What happens after launch?+
A smooth launch, then whatever ongoing care you want — tuning, updates, and support to keep the site fast and current. No lock-in; it’s your site and you’re free to take it anywhere.
